Baby Modeling and Talent
Agencies
About Me This blog is dedicated to helping new parents navigate the ins and outs of baby modeling. I offer this blog for parents, providing valuable advice on getting their child into a legitimate agency and sharing informative and helpful content related to baby modeling and talent agencies. I have years of experience in the industry in this niche area. A mother of two who both have worked in the industry.
BABY MODELING: IS IT RIGHT FOR ME?
If friends, family, and even strangers comment on how beautiful, happy, and smiley your baby is, it might be time to start thinking about getting your infant involved in modeling.
Baby Modelling Tips That Every Parent Should Know.
It is very important to find child modeling agencies that you trust. Look for agencies that specialize in working with children of your child's age. I've provided a list of agencies below that have good reputations and work with babies and children. While this is not a complete list, it's a place to start.
Avoid agencies that are trying to sell you expensive photo shoots for $600 or require you to take $1500 training classes. Legitement agencies work on a commission of 10%-20% depending on the location.
Babies do not need professional photos and overpriced classes for older kids are not something a child needs.
A lot of agencies use an online portal to submit their clients and there are a few different services out there. The larger agencies may offer this for free, and some may refer you to a third party. Most are inexpensive and should not cost more than $30 per month
All agencies will require you to fill out and submit an application form.
Applications will require current photos of your baby and some basic information. The photos do not need to be professional but do need to be clear. A simple, everyday solid or neutral color outfit works just fine. If an agency is interested, they will contact you. Do not keep contacting them.
You should be close to a major city, you have to be prepared to spend time traveling to and from photoshoots. Ensure you can commit to it, as agencies do not want to work with people who are flaky or who can’t make jobs.
A lot of agencies have a 3-day rule. If they contact you in regard to your application, an audition, or a job booking and don't hear from you within that time, they will lose interest or even drop you.
This one may seem obvious, but your child must enjoy having their picture taken and being in front of the camera.
Pay. Our first print job paid $150 per hour for two hours. Another booking was for a film and we were on set for 1 day at $500 per day. This all varies on the client, length of shoot, and usage.
Expect rejection. There are a lot of cute kids out there and you can't be overly sensitive. It can take time for your agent to find the right jobs for you.
A good agency should not mind for you to check in and see how things are going.

Is the Cute Kid contest worth doing? You upload your childs photo and I guess people vote and you can win prizes. I know they are not an agency.
Just wondering if anyome has won anything with them.
This is a scam!
Has anyone worked with the Young Agency in Arizona? We have a 4 year old and they want us to send photos and come in for an interview.
Thanks
WTB is pretty well known for specializing in the youth print market. You will definitely need to travel to the large cities for bookings. As far as shoots, they can be on both weekends and week days. It all depends on the client. Your agent will always advise you in advance of booking times and call schedules.
I submitted my 10 month old to WTB. I’ve been talking back and forth with Alex and am going to pay the year worth of digital comps tomorrow. We live in a small town in PA but said we should have no problem getting places in Philadelphia and Wilmington DE. He said they work around your work schedules and can do shoots on the weekends - does anybody know if that is the case?
Kids Casting is definitely not an agency. They even say it on their website. They do not book jobs for any of their customers. It's kinda post your kids photos and try to get work on your own. My experience is you want to probably go with an agency if your serious about the industry.
I'm curious, is Kids Casting worth signing up with? I know that they are not an actual agency. Anyone have actual experience with them?
Yes, that is the industry standard for the past few years. Agencies use these casting platforms to submit their talent. There are a few services out there and they all charge a monthly subscription fee. Most actors and models use them and without it you probably have very little chance of being submitted, seen or booked for casting calls.
I've been searching for a good agent in upstate NY with no luck. Any suggestions?
We have had 1 shoot with Carter's so far. Our agent is Alex with Who's That Baby in Seattle. We also deal with Karen sometimes as well. We had 2 callbacks but didn't book those.
